MOBILE BOAT DETAILING SERVICES - MIAMI
DNA Fiberglass LLC has been operating since 2018 in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. Now we are in South Florida and will be offering our mobile detailing services in this area. Our technicians will come to wherever your boat is located; you just need to provide a water and power source.
The detailing service always begins with a walk around the boat so the client can point out specific areas of attention and the technician can recommend the best services for your specific boat. With the client's authorization, we perform a test on a small area of the boat, which allows us to clearly determine the necessary steps for your boat and discuss the payment with complete transparency.
Following this, we will outline the packages, providing you with an understanding of the pricing options corresponding to the services you select for your vessel.

Boat Teak Treatment
Option 1: Epoxy and Marine Varnish Treatment (Maximum Protection)
Treatment Steps:
Cleaning and sanding the wood ($150 - $300).
Deep degreasing if the wood has had teak oil previously ($50 - $100).
Application of epoxy sealer (TotalBoat Clear Penetrating Epoxy) to repair and seal the wood. Additional cost for epoxy repairs ($300 - $400).
Light sanding after the epoxy has cured ($50 - $100).
Application of multiple coats of marine varnish (TotalBoat Gleam Spar Varnish) ($300 - $400).
Intermediate sanding between coats for a smooth finish ($50 - $100).
Masking required to protect surrounding areas during the application of epoxy and varnish ($50 - $100).
Advantages: Superior protection against moisture, UV rays, and wear. Long-term durability with lower maintenance. Repairs damaged wood and reinforces weakened areas.
Total Approximate: $750 - $1,100
Option 2: Teak Oil Treatment (Natural Look and Regular Maintenance)
Treatment Steps:
Cleaning and sanding the wood ($100 - $200).
Application of teak oil to nourish and protect ($200 - $300).
Periodic reapplication of oil every 3-6 months (additional cost not included).
Masking optional to protect surrounding areas during the application of oil ($50 - $100).
Advantages: Natural, warm finish. Easy application and maintenance. Lower initial cost compared to epoxy and varnish.
Total Approximate: $300 - $500
Option 3: Modified Oil with Resin Treatment (Balance Between Protection and Natural Appearance)
Treatment Steps:
Cleaning and sanding the wood ($150 - $250).
Application of resin-modified oil to combine the properties of oil and varnish ($250 - $350).
Reapplication as per product (additional cost not included).
Masking optional to protect surrounding areas during the application of modified oil ($50 - $100).
Advantages: Natural finish with increased resistance. Less maintenance compared to pure oil. Good intermediate option between oil and varnish.
Total Approximate: $400 - $600
Inconsistency Between Oil and Varnish/Epoxy:
Teak oil soaks into the wood and leaves an oily layer that does not fully dry, which impedes good adhesion of varnish or epoxy. Applying varnish over oil results in poor adhesion and potential issues like peeling. Epoxy requires a completely dry and oil-free surface to adhere properly. Applying epoxy over teak oil without proper preparation can lead to adhesion failures.
Epoxy Repair in All Variants: Additional cost for epoxy repairs.

______
OXIDATION REMOVAL PACKAGE
Basic Package + $20 per step per foot
To achieve an optimal finish and remove oxidation from the boat, additional steps such as sanding with different grits of sandpaper, using a buffer with heavy and medium cutting compounds, and polishing may be necessary.
The additional steps could include:
Sanding with a Random Orbital Sander and by Hand, Using Different Grits of Sandpaper:( 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500): Depending on the Degree of Oxidation, Light Moderate or Heavy Oxidation
This process aims to remove deep imperfections in the gel coat and achieve a smooth and uniform texture.
Use of Buffer:
Used to apply heavy, medium, and polishing compounds with an orbital polisher to restore shine and remove light scratches from the boat's surfaces.
During the first visit and boat test, we will discuss the need for these additional steps and agree on a price based on the amount of work required to meet the specific needs of your boat. Additionally, we are flexible and adapt to the individual preferences of each client.
*The cleaning of the hull below the waterline has a fixed price of $10 per linear foot.*
Example of How We Calculate the Quote for a Boat (Hull Only):
If you have a 21-foot open-bow boat with light oxidation on the exterior and choose Sealant Protection, the base price and additional steps are calculated as follows:
Base Price for Hull Detailing:
21 feet * $10 per foot (Wash) = $210
Protection Option:
21 feet * $15 per foot (Sealant Protection) = $315
Cleaning Below the Waterline:
21 feet * $10 per foot = $210
Total Base Price with Protection and Below Waterline Cleaning:
$210 (Wash) + $315 (Sealant Protection) + $210 (Below Waterline Cleaning) = $735
Additional Steps to Remove Light Oxidation on the Hull:
Buffer with Medium Cut:
21 feet * $20 per foot = $420Polishing:
21 feet * $20 per foot = $420
Total Additional Steps Cost:
$420 (Medium Cut) + $420 (Polishing) = $840
Total Hull Cost:
$735 (Base Price with Protection and Below Waterline Cleaning) + $840 (Additional Steps) = $1575
So, the total cost for detailing a 21-foot open-bow boat hull with Sealant Protection, cleaning below the waterline, and light oxidation removal would be $1575.
